I am lucky to have been able to get the Starbucks planner early this year.  It just so happened that I have a friend who needed to collect 3 planners to give to friends abroad so I let him in on the cheapest route to get several planners (and got a planner for myself at a minimum cost minus all the coffee calories in the process).

There are several ways to get this years planner:
  • The regular way - Collect 18 stickers by buying 18 drinks: 9 core drinks and 9 Christmas drinks.  This year's Christmas flavors are Toffee Nut Latte, Peppermint Mocha, and Gingerbread Latte.  My favorite Dark Cherry Mocha is conspicuously absent this year.
  • You can also buy 5,000php worth of Starbucks merchandise and get the planner on the spot.
  • The cheapest and most practical way (which is what my friend and I did) - Load 5,000php onto your Starbucks card and get the planner instantly.  The best part of this is that when you use your 5,000php load, you can still get stickers when you buy drinks.  In effect, it's like really getting a planner free upfront.  This is the best option for people like me who don't really like coffee but are forced to endure the caffeine and extra calories for the sake of the planner.  What I suggest is asking 2 other friends (so you would be 3 in a group), divide the cost of loading 5,000php onto the card, and take turns in using the card to buy your coffee.  In effect, it's like spending around 1,700php for a planner (and you don't have to buy the cheapest drinks at that) as opposed to around 2,5000 if we peg one drink at around 150php.
Well anyway, here are the pictures of the planner.  Obviously I got the magenta one.  I apologize for the picture quality since I just used my phone's camera.

This is what I posted in Facebook last night:

Merry Christmas to my family, all my friends and becky friends, my colleagues, my schoolmates, my exes, my co-workers, the person that I secretly love (the song is for you, hahaha), my teachers / professors / mentors, my frenemies, my acquaintances, in other words, all my FB friends. May God continue to bless you all.

With all our love,
Moi and Phoenix

Yesterday, my family and I went to SM North Edsa to check out the world's most popular cat on display: my all-time favorite cartoon character, Hello Kitty!

Dubbed as the Hello Kitty Village, this magnificent display of life-size Hello Kitty characters is located at the The Block Atrium.  It was soooooooooo cute, and any Hello Kitty fan should not miss the chance to see this.  Trust me, there are a lot of photo ops for rabid fans like me!

Check out a few of the pics that we took yesterday:

This kitty-fabulous display will be up until early January so I encourage Hello Kitty fans, kids and kids at heart to don't let this opportunity pass by.  By the way, if you want to get the chance to pose with the Hello Kitty mascot onstage, make sure that you have at least 500php in your wallet, as you need to purchase 500php worth of Hello Kitty merchandise to be given the stage pass.  And the mascot only makes an  appearance every Sunday so you may want to time your visit on that day.

Overall, this Hello Kitty Village was worth visiting.  I give this exhibit an two thumbs up.

This is the time of the year that I would usually feel overwhelming happiness, no matter what kind of situation I’m in. There’s just something about the Christmas season that lifted my spirit, despite the heavy traffic, the last-minute shopping, the crowds, and all that kind of stuff.
But not this year. The death of my dad has changed everything, and things will never be the same.
This is the first Christmas that he will be no longer with us. It fills me with such deep sadness that I will no longer be able to greet him, to thank him, and to tell him how much I appreciate everything that he has done for me.
I know he is in a better place, but sometimes, it just hits me that he’s really gone…
I know that wherever he is, he’s watching over us. And I hope that with everything that I do, I make him proud.
I love you, Dad!
