Today is my birthday, and on this day, I have the following on my wishlist:

  • Continued health and prosperity for my daughter.
  • My family and friends' health and happiness.
  • Job stability.
  • Life stability.
  • Lots of money!!! (hehehehe!)
  • To pass all SLAs by end of year.
  • To be over and done with all work-related issues.
  • Conscience for our politicians.
  • Conviction for the Maguindanao Massacre killers.
  • For every child to be safe from sick predators.
  • A beach vacation in Palawan.
  • A Korean vacation.
  • Phenomenal sales for the iPhone 4S (yes, I am a fangirl that way, hehehehe)
  • A macbook pro.
  • A lovelife! <3

And of course, I wouldn't say no to this on my special day:

Happy birthday to me again!  I hope I'll have a special day. :)

As I have said in my previous post, Google Chrome is my all time favorite browser... I can never be contented with Firefox, Safari (no matter how much I love Steve Jobs!), and most especially IE! So naturally, I HAD to find a way to fix my sim social issue on Chrome. I cannot not use it!

So after searching through countless fixes on forums and the net that hardly helped me, I decided to do the following:

Clear my cache and cookies.
Update my flash for chrome manually
Restart my laptop

And voila! Worked like a charm! I was very happy when I finally solved the issue! But then again, no matter how great I felt, I am so hoping that the game will be smooth sailing from now on... ;-)

First, there were the rooms that causes your browser to crash whenever you try to move them.  The issue is fixed now, but I was not satisfied with the way EA handled it.

Second, there's the haunted easel that doesn't work.  EA is handling it exactly the way they handled the frozen rooms issue: no words whatsoever on whether or not they are working on it.

And now, I can't play the game in Google Chrome.  Chrome is my absolute favorite browser and I can't play Sims on it.  The game is working fine in Firefox but the user experience in Firefox is just subpar, compared to Chrome.

I am getting really frustrated with playing and these are the times when I think of giving up.  Now the question is, should I, or should I not?  :(

I dropped by TCK's Eastwood branch before coming to work last night to buy their Scarlet Cake.  I have had this dessert before and I loved it.  I think it's the first ever red velvet cake that I tasted here in Manila, and definitely won't be the last..  While waiting for the cake, I literally have Spice Girl's song running through my head, specifically the line, "Are you as good as I remember, baby?  Get it on, get it on..." Haha...

Anyway, here's a pic of the cake that I took prior to eating it:

Apologies for the poor image quality as I left my iPhone at home so I had to use my trusty ol' Blackberry Curve to take this snap.  Somehow, my phone's camera just fails to capture the sheer redness of the cake itself.  So I guess people will just have to take my word when I say that this cake is RED!

So what's my verdict on the cake?  Is it as good as I remember?  Uhm, not quite.  It's a really good cake but somehow, the slice that I got last night was not as moist as the one that I got before. And by comparison, I think that UCC's Red Velvet Cake is better tasting.  Well anyway, what I liked about the cake was its frosting.  It was deliciously decadent, and the cocoa powder was a nice touch.  It added depth to the overall flavor.

Overall, I think the cake is quite good, although definitely there are better velvet cakes out there that I need to explore.  I will come back for more, provided that I am within the vicinity.  It's not the type that I would go out of my way just to get a bite. :)
